Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami: A $650,000 Bag and More in New Collection

Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami

Louis Vuitton has announced the revival of its legendary partnership with Takashi Murakami, launching a re-edition collection in early 2025. This collaboration marks 20 years since the Japanese artist first brought his whimsical, colorful designs to the luxury fashion brand.

Leaked previews from Supreme Leaks reveal a lineup of opulent pieces, including a massive bag case priced at $650,000 USD, a $3,750 USD leather carrier with Murakami’s floral motifs, and a $65,500 USD monogram-covered trunk. Other offerings range from a $7,800 USD Capucines bag to smaller items like belts, wallets, perfumes, and even puzzles—all under $1,000 USD.

The original collection, which debuted in 2003 under creative director Marc Jacobs, transformed fashion and art collaborations, combining Murakami’s vibrant aesthetic with Louis Vuitton’s classic designs. From bright cherry blossoms to monogramouflage patterns, the pieces became instant icons, driving mainstream media attention and commanding high prices at auctions to this day.
