Clase Azul México, the prestigious Mexican luxury brand celebrated for its artisanal spirits, has released the Clase Azul Tequila Día de Muertos Edición Limitada Música, the fourth installment in the acclaimed Nuestros Recuerdos collection. Launching on October 20, this limited-edition tequila pays tribute to Día de Muertos, Mexico’s iconic celebration of life and memory.

This year’s release, Edición Limitada Música, centers on the vibrant sounds that define the Día de Muertos festival, which takes place annually in early November. Music plays a crucial role during the festivities, as joyful melodies of drums, trumpets, guitars, and accordions honor the departed through sound.

With only 10,000 bottles produced, this edition embodies the festival's musical essence while continuing the cultural homage of the Nuestros Recuerdos collection, which has previously honored the flavors (Sabores, 2021), colors (Colores, 2022), and aromas (Aromas, 2023) of the holiday.

The tequila itself is an añejo that has undergone a special 26-month aging process, starting in American whiskey casks before splitting into two batches. One batch is finished in Scotch whisky casks from the Isle of Skye, while the other matures in casks from the Speyside region. The result is a complex tequila with an aromatic profile featuring notes of honey, peat smoke, nutmeg, and dried plum, alongside flavors of cinnamon, chocolate, and a lingering smoky finish.

The bottle design is as intricate as the spirit it holds. The plum-colored decanter is adorned with artwork by renowned Mexican artist David Espinosa ("el Dee"), showcasing a lively ensemble of skeletal musicians in golden and lilac hues, capturing the musical spirit of the holiday. On the bottle's top sits an ornate Catrina, crafted from 24-karat gold and patina, depicting a skeleton playing an accordion with limbs that move rhythmically. This handcrafted ornament was meticulously created by artisans from Milagros de Latón in Jalisco, requiring over a week of careful assembly from 40 individual parts cast from 10 molds.
