Bvlgari Revives Iconic Technique with New Tubogas Collection, Celebrating Italian Heritage and Artistry
This year, Bvlgari draws from its storied archives to unveil the Bvlgari Tubogas Collection, a line that honors the Maison’s avant-garde spirit and craftsmanship. Inspired by the industrial Tubogas technique from the 1920s, the collection pays tribute to the jewelry-making methods that have defined Bvlgari’s style since the 1940s.
The Tubogas technique involves wrapping two gold strips around a central core without soldering, resulting in flexible, durable pieces. This intricate process debuted in the Maison’s Serpenti Tubogas watch in 1948, eventually spreading to other collections throughout the ‘70s and becoming a hallmark of the brand’s distinctive design language.
Returning to its origins, the new collection features 18-carat yellow gold pieces, including minimalist bracelets, trigold designs, and pavé-studded versions. Bvlgari also introduces the Tubogas Parentesi, a line inspired by Roman pavements that reflect the bold aesthetics of the ‘70s.
Further expanding the Serpenti range, Bvlgari presents two new yellow gold sets that allow for personalized wear with an opening-and-closing snake’s head. The latest pieces in the Tubogas collection, including three innovative necklace designs with a triangular shape, showcase Bvlgari’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of jewelry-making.
