Lady Gaga Teases New Song "The Joker" From Joker: Folie À Deux Soundtrack

Lady Gaga is embracing her rock ‘n’ roll side with the release of her new song, “The Joker,” from the upcoming Harlequin album, inspired by her role in Joker: Folie À Deux. On September 25, Gaga shared a teaser for the track, filmed inside the Louvre Museum in Paris.

In the clip, Gaga, donning a red wig, patterned blue dress, and Converse sneakers, sings haunting lyrics while strolling past iconic artwork, including the Winged Victory of Samothrace. The pop superstar’s melancholy lines—“There’s always a joker in the pack, there’s always a lonely clown”—echo the tragic themes of her character, Harley Quinn. In a standout moment, she draws the Joker’s signature red smile on the protective glass covering the Mona Lisa, an homage to a scene from the film's teaser trailer.

The video ends with Gaga dancing, singing “The Joker is me,” followed by the words "Time for a Folie À Deux" flashing on screen, teasing both the film’s October 4 release and a new Louvre exhibit, Figures of the Fool. The clip closes with a soundbite of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker laughing in the background.

Harlequin, the companion album to Joker: Folie À Deux, drops September 27, while the highly anticipated film, starring Gaga as Harley Quinn and Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, hits theaters on October 4.
