Beyoncé's SirDavis Whisky: A Bold New Chapter in American Spirits
Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has teamed up with Moët Hennessy, a subsidiary of LVMH, to introduce SirDavis, a groundbreaking whisky that reimagines the American whisky tradition. This innovative joint venture unites the artistic vision of Knowles-Carter with the craftsmanship of Moët Hennessy, signaling a new era for American whisky.
The idea for SirDavis was born from Knowles-Carter’s passion for whisky, particularly her appreciation for Japanese blends. Partnering with Moët Hennessy, she set out to create a whisky that would embody her ideal flavor profile while paying homage to her family’s history. The brand is named after her great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, a moonshiner during Prohibition, whose legacy of whisky-making inspired this modern endeavor.
“SirDavis is a way for me to honor my great-grandfather and share the power and confidence I feel when enjoying a quality whisky,” said Knowles-Carter. “With Moët Hennessy, we’ve created a whisky that respects tradition but also invites people to experience something new and unique.”
Crafted under the expertise of Dr. Bill Lumsden, an award-winning Master Distiller, SirDavis features a rare mash bill of 51% rye and 49% malted barley, a blend that sets it apart from traditional American whiskies. The spirit undergoes secondary maturation in sherry casks, resulting in a smooth, sophisticated profile that blends the robust flavors of American rye with the elegance of Japanese and Scotch whiskies.
SirDavis has already made a significant impact in the spirits world, earning the title of Best In Class for American Whiskey at the 2023 SIP Awards and securing top ratings at other prestigious competitions. The whisky is housed in a tall, ribbed glass bottle that captures light beautifully, adorned with a black medallion featuring a bronzed horse—symbolic of Knowles-Carter’s Texas roots.
Retailing at $89, SirDavis is available for pre-order on SirDavis.com and will be distributed across the U.S. and in select international locations starting in September 2024.
