Louis Vuitton Debuts Luxurious Chocolate Store in Shanghai for Qixi Festival
Just weeks before the Chinese Valentine’s Day (Qixi), Louis Vuitton has launched its first luxurious chocolate store in China. This marks the maison’s third chocolate store globally, following the success of its outlets in LV Dream, Paris, and Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. The new store, Le Chocolat Maxime Frédéric, is now open in Shanghai's Taikoo Li Qiantan shopping mall.
The opening is perfectly timed for the Qixi Festival, celebrated in early August this year. The store embodies sweet luxury, blending Louis Vuitton’s signature design elements with its confectionery offerings. The interior, inspired by a tropical garden, features floor-to-ceiling wooden trunk displays, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. LV’s iconic Vivienne mascot and The Petula pet lion add a playful touch to the setting.
Each chocolate piece is adorned with the recognizable Louis Vuitton motifs and flown in directly from Paris to ensure premium quality and craftsmanship. The store is designed in a petal monogram-shaped space at the heart of the mall. Chef Maxime Frédéric expressed his excitement about the expansion, stating, “We want to get inspiration from local culture and lifestyle. In the future, we will definitely bring some customized creations for Shanghai, such as for Chinese New Year. It’s also important to share the happiness and joy of these exquisite chocolate treats. Because the most important ingredient of a piece of chocolate is love.”
Chocolate offerings range from $30 to $448 USD and are available to the public starting July 23. This new store not only brings a taste of Paris to Shanghai but also celebrates the joy and luxury that Louis Vuitton is known for.
